Johnson and Wales University
My original plan after high school was to find a job and save up to go to a school in Japan but Johnson and Wales University gave me a different idea. They gave ideas about going to different campuses and making a home away from home. They allow anyone to turn in a application because nobody is limited. With this they also allow you to get a college tour for around 400$. I would say that isn't bad because it could be your future. there are many different programs that also include traveling abroad which is up my alley. After studying Japanese and going to Japan, I feel that I want my future to be more focused there and Johnson and wales could provide that future for me. I was feeling skeptical about colleges and how much their costs would be but now I have to figure it out because I am a senior.

Design or Function
In my opinion, I think design in more valuable because it is all about visual. It would be nice if the product and function went hand in hand but if I had to, I would choose design over function. For a good design I think they do go hand-in-hand because if one aspect is good and the other one is also, its a product worth your attention.
The video I watched about this connected with the class project because we have to have design and function down. We cannot have one or another because it could make the product loose sales, attention etc. I think if buyers find our designs very creative and unique, the function could lake somewhat because I know we are all mostly beginners in this class. It would be hard to discourage a product for function rather than design. For our products, we have simple fabric so I would say the functions have to 100% perfect and usable.

'THE TRUE COST' IS A JARRING LOOK AT THE HUMAN CASUALTIES OF FAST FASHION
What I read in the article was how we are destroying others happiness and forcing them into a harsh industry that we benefit from. The article does make me think differently about clothing now because people make it so easy to shrug off the guilt and shame that we have as a human race. We are using other humans as animals to create our clothing and that is horrible, and the clothing I am wearing too is probably from the sweat shops. There is also a need for change because this isn't how we should be treating the world. We share the world with other people and if we keep thinking we are superior, then we will eventually die out ASAP. I think consumers need to think about the value of the clothes they wear and where it comes from. A little girl trying to help her family survive could have made that but you never know.

Cyber Monday
In the U.S., Cyber Monday is the Monday following Thanksgiving, promoted by online retailers as a day for exceptional bargains. The term "Cyber Monday" was created by marketing companies to persuade people to shop online. The term was coined by Ellen Davis and made its debut on November 28, 2005 in a Shop.org press release entitled "'Cyber Monday Quickly Becoming One of the Biggest Online Shopping Days of the Year. I think Cyber Monday is a really good thing because everyone knows technology and I think shopping online is easier except for clothes. Technology is always advancing and I think this is a good way to get sales up because people are always shopping online.

Black Friday
Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving where Christmas shopping finally begins. There are extreme sales for Black Friday to give buyers a better opportunity to go in stores and buy what they want. A conspiracy for why it is called Black Friday is given in Wikipedia - "Many retailers report some of their highest profits on Black Friday. The black portion of the name, "Black Friday" relates to businesses recording their losses in red ink and gains in black. This tradition lives on in modern accounting software, hence the name." I think Black Friday is a great thing because prices are reasonable for people to buy. I think it did evolve into a commercial monster because every year something changes more and more to get buyers to go to stores. I also do take part in Black Friday because I love the deals stores offer.

Marc Jacobs ' 80s Party
The party that Marc Jacobs threw was to die for because it was an 80s theme. So many people dressed amazingly and some didn't. My favorite looks of the night were these:
From the makeup to the clothes was beautiful and fun! I loved seeing these looks because the 80's was colorful and fashion friendly, meaning you would look cool in the most exotic pieces. The looks that didn't stand out were worn mainly by celebrities, They had a problem leaving their comfort zones. The looks being worn above are from BFA students.

Stages of Product Development
What I have read from the article on Entrepreneur.com was that in order to have a product you need to go through stages like soliciting your product to manufacturing. The steps in order to have a well-built product is throwing the idea out, not only to friends and family but strangers too. You have to know who will be buying your product. You also have to make your product entertaining enough for buyers and not choose low quality materials, it has to be appealing to buy. Even though you are putting effort into your product, you have to make a fair price for it because I would believe that if you have it fair enough more and more people would but it. You shouldn't overstock though, "Cash flow, shipping time, storage space and shelf life will dictate how much product you stock." was said in the article and I agree. The last thing to do would be find out where and who would be a great buyer to your product. This relates to what we have done in class because we all had to pitch an idea of products and make sure they were appealing to our buyers. We had to make sure of the time they would take to make, how many learning curves there would be, etc.

The Best Celebrity Looks From the Los Angeles amfAR Inspiration Gala
The best celebrity looks are something I kinda don't agree with because Hiedi Klum, Charlize Theron, and Angela Lindvall, didn't have the best dresses. I thought they were dresseed basic.
Katy Perry's dress was my personal favorite. She looked like a Spanish dancer and I also liked how the colors worked with each other.
Balmain's Spring/Summer 2017 Fashion Show
Balmain's show was very modern and classy. The collection was eye-catching but not my taste. I didn't love it but it did inspire me somewhat to do something different than what normal people do.80 looks were shown in the collection. These looks were flowly and were bold. The materials were rainforest metallic fancy wear.
Balmain is a french fashion house and the head designer is Olivier Rousteing. He is a 31 year old French man. I think he can be an inspiration to anyone. He is young and very successful, He is carrying the Balmain name on his shoulders. I think Designers aren't and don't need to be more business inclined because they are creative artists and need to have their head in the clouds to produce pieces.

In My Wildest Dreams
If nothing could hold me back, I would travel to Japan to learn fashion because it is one of my biggest dreams to study over there. I want to be able to master Japanese as a language and learn more about the culture then I already do. After studying abroad in Japan, I realized it is somewhere I find in my future. I love the culture and the fashion, they are the biggest reasons I decided to learn the language. I would also be able to travel lots of places if nothing would hold me back. I don't want to open up a store or anything but I want to be able to see fashion from another country's perspective, especially Japan. I think it would be refreshing to be in a totally different environment and have to think on my own because usually I have to ask my parents about what I should do with my choices. I would also like to travel to other countries too.

Halloween
Halloween is the one holiday where it is okay to be super extra. You can be in any kind of costume and it will be okay because it is Halloween. For example, people dress as food and skimpy versions of characters. I think women can live a little when its Halloween because judgments are made about appearances daily but if its just for Halloween, its a joke. I haven't been seeing any creative costumes this year but I am sure there will be next year. The costumes for 2016 is mostly politics and suicide squad.
These are examples of what will mostly be seen for Halloween 2016.

Levels of Quality
Quality is the value or rank of apparel. High quality means to have the best of the best in apparel. You would use the best materials, designs and construction features. These will always be sold at a high price because of the quality or value. Medium quality is when garments are good and reliable. Quality fabrics are used and reflect good designs and okay fabric. The price range for medium quality fabrics is medium, like something at Forever 21. Low quality is when a garment is poor and isn't reliable. General standards of quality would be construction details. Evenness of color also matters. When you judge quality, you have to take into consideration, fabric ,seams ,stitching ,hems, buttonholes, trims and decor, zippers and closures, and linings.
Quality Assurance

This picture is of a sewing machine from Impactiva. Quality assurance is when a garment is judged based on value. The QA inspector would inspect the whole garment and decide if it should represent the company that they were hired by or not. It is important to have a QA inspector with standards because you want to encourage future sales and a good reputation. Examples that a QA inspector would look for on a garment would be seams, stitches, cuts, fabric choice, reliability, durability. I think inspectors are very important because they have the final say and show their honest opinion because that is what they are being paid for. Inspectors also need to be picky because sometimes clothes fall apart or rip apart if not sewn correctly.

Halloween Fashion
As a teenager with school on my hands, I have no free time to plan what I will be doing on Halloween. I love Halloween but I feel it came too quick this year. I always thought about making my costume and never usually do. For a DIY, I would say if you are doing dramatic makeup, buy it at a costume store. The best costume makeup store I know is Natasha's Attic, there is a variety of high quality theatrical makeup. I think Halloween is the time to see how serious people are about the holiday. For example, usually women dress in revealing outfits or they will dress in something silly because going all out on Halloween is okay. I hope next Halloween I will get to enjoy more because I won't have school on my hands. What I am planning next Halloween is something DIY since I am becoming experienced in sewing.

Child Labor
What I have learned about the world is that we don't care about others, We step over the soft-spoken and kill the ones who don't have a voice. In the article that I read, children are forced to work in order to survive. As children, they have no freedom to play or have imaginations they are put in a mature work field that will destroy their happiness. I feel that as a nation with a lot to fend for ourselves, we need to protect others. I feel the U.S. is egging on this behavior from other countries, I see little to no propaganda on banning child labor around the world.
This young boy from the article is forced to work at a young age (11-12) and he looks unhealthy. How can such a child be in a plain boring and dehumanizing factory. Why aren't parents and others speaking about these manners of other countries? I think if we want to become a world that works together we need to go head to head on issues that modern countries don't have problems with. The U.S. does do business with these factories and it is sick, we are oblivious to the problems i our world and have to become educated from outside sources.

London celebrating "vulgar" fashion
I do think fashion has to break the acceptable rules of taste because everyone has a different sense of fashion. Everyone in the world doesn't agree that this photo of Chanel Iman in Stephen Jones and Christian Dior is vulgar.
The quote "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" is suppose to apply to fashion because everyone has a idea and opinion for a reason. If we all wore the same type of fashion, we would be so outdated and boring. I think 'vulgar fashion" brings creativity to the fashion world and new styles. "Vulgar fashion" to me is art, These fashion designers preach about fashion is art but then drag down fashion that isn't similar to theirs.

The 2016 Rocky Horror Picture Show
I am extremely excited for the new Rocky Horror Picture Show because it will be introducing the ideas of gender and sexuality expression to this generation. I feel that this generation is becoming extremely involved in these ideas and I love it. The fashion approaches most of these people take though, is very non-sensitive. For example, Transvestites or Drag queens have a very fun fashion palette. The updated Rocky Horror Picture Show has great and up to date designs.

I love the whole design for this reimagined visual. I think this will bring more attention now to this remake then the old one because the cast is modern celebrities.

Fashion does repeat itself
In the modern world today, you can see fashion repeating itself mostly from the 70s and 80s era. In American fashion today, we have progressed to go back to 70s styles.

This photo from InStyle shows the difference between then and now. We have taken the styles and made them into trends. In South Korea, their current trend inspiration is the 80s.
Currently this Korean pop group, Shinee, are the trend setters for Koreans. Since social media has became such an important aspect in everything, we are now opened to all parts of the world and see what they are doing too. I enjoy that fashion is repeating itself because now I won't have an insecurity of "looking weird" because I am a fan of every style in the 80's. I hope that this generation also makes a new style and trend for themselves though.

Teamwork
Teamwork is a great ethic to have in a class like this. There is only 1 teacher and a billion students but having groups makes it easier for the teacher because they can have their pace as a group instead of individually. A con to this though is having a struggling person in your group which will slow the group down. My experience with this is my team leader helping me with everything to get done on time. If I saw someone in my position, I would also want to help as best as I can. I learned that with help you can get things done faster. i think with teamwork it is also less competitive than being together individually.

Cover Girl's first male ambassador
The article about James Charles is introducing androgyny in 2016.
The article showed that he believes that he is a young man who just wants to wear makeup. There shouldn't be a problem with that because, everyone is becoming gender fluid somehow. Just because one feminine activity is done doesn't mean he wants to transform into a woman and that's what Covergirl is trying to promote. Men back then would also wear makeup like Prince and Duran Duran and it was extremely attractive so I don't really understand why it gets under someones skin. The
world is full of technology and social media, we are always conforming ideas about what is right and wrong. I think having a boy young and comfortable to wear make will allow others to take the same role but just to cover small imperfections or something. I think having a male as a makeup ambassador will show the world that we have to accept what makes others happy. In other countries solely being gay will get you killed.I think having a public announcement that everyone is welcome to do anything they aspire will show other communities and the world how we are becoming a open society.

Jobs in the fashion industry
There are many jobs in the fashion industry but the 3 jobs that I think are most important in our modern fashion drove society is a designer, model and a visual mechandiser. I picked a designer to be important because this is where it all starts from the type of fabric to the style of garment made. Designers also have reached so much popularity in this society thanks to social media and you can get a slice of life and what inspires them. I also picked a model because I feel that fashion models are displayed in a way to get non-fashion fanatics to tune into fashion. For example, Gigi Hadid is a very famous fashion model and many buinesses invest into her because she has all kinds of fans. Her fans range from fashion to her fame from hanging out with the kardashians or that her sister is dating a famous musician. I also picked a visual designer because it gives more creativity and a new look to fashion. Visual merchandisers also determine how garments and accessories will be displayed in a store. I feel that these jobs are extremely important in the fashion industry because this are the main points to the industry or at least what first comes to mind. Most of these jobs don't require more than a high school diploma which is great for people who are more into creativity and visual and struggle with academics.

2017 Spring/Summer Paris Fashion Week
Paris's Fashion Week is very simplistic and plain. I have seen a lot of designers put very unrealistic designs but they are unique .
This is from Valentino's Spring Summer Collection. I wouldn't wear something like this because it isn't something that would flatter me. I really like how bright colors are being incorporated well into these fashion looks. I like how the dresses are becoming more flowy and free. Gently gliding off the skin type of fabric.I think this type of fashion doesn't suit my taste because this is more for people with money. Paris Fashion week wasn't as polished as i hoped for it to be but I am enjoying it. The highlight to this week is a Balmain Spring Summer dress.

What are hems? How can they affect a garment's appearance?
A hem is the edge of a garment that has been turned under and sewn. The picture of the hem is by Tasia St. Germaine. Hems can be used for altering a garment or to make a garment look more polished. Not having hems can make a garment look very unfinished.
If we did not have hems, garments will look unpolished and "ratchet". I think hems make clothing better because it gives a cleaner look and touch. Your garment wont fray or look nasty, if you do hem it. Making a hem means you will have to fold a raw edge and sew it. You can use many techniques when sewing a hem. You can hand sew, or use a sewing machine.

The important communication skill of "listening
What I have learned from the article is that you shoul be extremely attentive to who is speaking and just listen. You put other distractions aside and focus on what the person is saying. You need to be apatient and not guess what the person is trying to tell you because if you are waiting patiently, the speaker will tell you everything. In the class before the teacher is done speaking, students ask questions right before the teacher will announce it. There is no patience in the daily life when people speak only if it is something extreme. You should show the speaker to trust you with the information they are giving you and don't fuss over the way they are speaking to you because you never know how the information will turn out. We don't show comprehension through our ears only but show with facial gestures, expressions, and eye movement. This is important to let the reader know how you comprehend what they have just said.

Gucci's Spring Summer 2016 Collection (Milan)
Gucci's collection for this coming up season was delicate and flowy. It's a mix of 70's and Chinese embriodery.
It gives a fresh and young feel to the collection because it does have a retro feel but I would wear the things that are in this collection.
This is my personal favorite because the emerald suit is very flattering on any skin tone. The colors of the collection were clean and flouorescent.

How important is community service to developing 21st Century skills such as collaboration, communication, critical thinking and creativity ?
The field trip has helped me practiced skills of collaboration, communication, critical thinking and creativity by allowing me to work with senior citizens.I have learned how to collabrate and communicate with older people and see a bit of what they see. They need help with a lot of physical labor and can be somewhat intimidated to ask for it. Developing my creativity was how to help these people and learn something from it. I enjoyed the day I spent helping set up the Quilt show. It was a refreshing outting for myself because I didn't have to go to school and worry about academics.

My favorite 2016 collection?
Jeremy Scott's Fall/Winter 2016 collection has to be my favorite because it has an 80's space cowgirl look! Jeremy's collections are always unique and vibrant, whenever I see a new one I get excited to see what he has done. My top favorite looks from this collection :
I think pink and black compliment each other and I love the fringe, fur and the boots! The first look is barbie cowgirl going out for a shopping date. The second look is something I picture Dale Bozzio wearing. The last look is my favorite because I can picture me wearing this. I love the other pieces of the collection but the black and pink pieces are my favorite!!

Emmy fashion
The fashion for the Emmy Red Carpet was elegant but soft. A lot of women wore soft lace dresses while others wore beautiful elegant gowns. There were dresses that were the opposite though. The worst dressed had to be Padma Lakshmi , Amy Poehler, and Gaby Hoffmann because what they wore wasn't elegant or soft. The clothes that they wore were outdated.
These dresses are very plain and unflattering. I didn't like the sequences on Padma's , everything on Amy's dress, and the silhouette of Gaby's. The best dressed though had to be Yara Shahidi, Maura Tierney, and Neve Campbell. I think what they wore was very elegant and fit them perfectly.
Yara's dress was very soft and conservative, it was beautiful without showing too much skin. Maura's dress was a beautiful bell shaped dress above the ankles which is beautiful and classic. Neve's dress was a beautiful black mermaid dress which showed her curves perfectly and didn't show a lot of skin keeping it modern.

What is avant-garde fashion? Why do you think many celebrities dress in avant-garde fashions" What celebrity behaviors support your thinking?
Avant-Garde is an extremely unique fashion. I think many celebrities dress in this fashion to receive attention and be remembered for what they have worn. A very good example would be Lady Gaga:
Performing in a tentacle dress which is very unique, this is a great example of Avant-Garde clothing. Celebrities want to have attention and what they wear gets them the attention quickly. I think Lady Gaga wears Avant-Garde to express herself though. She is a unique celebrity because she is open about her lifestyle and the way she dresses.

Why have T-Shirts been popular styles with teens for a very long time? Do you think this will change anytime soon?
I think T-shirts are popular among teenagers because they are easy and can go with any outfit. They will stick with teenagers for a long time because teenagers are usually lazy or tired and want to wear something very casual and simple. T-shirts also have designs that teenagers like to express themselves like bands, quotes, and celebrities.
These Demilked shirts are for expressing a certain type of humor. I don't think this will be changing anytime soon because T-shirts have become such a convenient piece of garment. If it is plain, You can put it on and run out the door without being judged of the way you dress. I think this isn't only popular with teenagers right now though, I think they wear it the most but a lot of other groups of people love wearing T-shirts like senior citizens.

How do you feel about what you read? Do you think there is room for different types of models on the runway? Why or why not? Do you think the runway at NYFW is a good place to bring awareness to global issues? Why or why not?
I am glad I read the article it was very inspiring to see that the model got a chance to be a model and live a dream that people don't usually live. There needs and will be more room for different types of models because we are becoming a modern world and we should not put labels on what is beautiful and what is not. If everyone wears fashion, why isn't there more diverse people modeling?
Reshma Qureshi looks amazing in anything and should be able to be a high fashion model. NYFW did a great job bringing her because it is a great place to bring awareness to issues! So many people are inspired and watch NYFW. A lot of celebrities go too, which makes even more people interested.

What is a fashion classic?
A fashion classic is a piece of clothing that will stay in fashion for a while. A classic can also be a trend too! Trends usually tend not to last a while but they will always come back around somehow. Examples of classic pieces would be tuxedos!
One classic that started as a trend would be jeans. Everyone wears them now because they have became a staple piece. They are permanent to all societies now because they are global. I don't think we will stop wearing them either. Styles from awhile ago also have come back as a trend like bell bottoms.

Trends
A fashion trend is a style that is popular at the time. One of the biggest trend setters for teenage girls is Kylie Jenner, she has built her style based on other cultures. She incorporates Latina and African American styles and has changed her appearance to look like a Latina or African American.
I think bigger cities do have an advantage at setting trends because they are well known and have a lot of people with diverse styles. These trends can start anywhere though because they usually start off on the internet. Celebrities who have a huge following can be these trend setters because there are many people watching them and wanting to be like them. Usually trends start by having an attraction to what is someone wearing and they would like to try it out. Not only in fashion but makeup also! Makeup always has new trends, the newest one is strobing. It is suppose to give a dewy look to your skin.

What "Needs" do you think Haute Couture satisfies?
Needs that I believe Haute Couture satisfies is emotional needs and status and prestige needs because only rich can buy haute couture and feel important and wealthy in it. Haute Couture is meant for wealthy occasions like red carpets or parties. Like at the 2014 Met Gala, Charlize Theron wore a Dior Haute Couture dress.
Haute Couture is meant for extremely special occasions, so there are not a lot of needs that can be satisfied. Weather, conformity, and physical needs don't really go with Haute Couture. Haute Couture is also very rare so once again, not a lot of needs are present to be satisfied. I think Identification can be a need for Haute Couture because it could say who you are like Lady Gaga in Chanel Haute Couture.

In your opinion, is Haute Couture a dying art? Why or why not?
I think Haute Couture is a dying art because there are few designers and they are becoming old. I am sure the wealthy can keep it running somehow. Haute Couture is very rare and not a lot of people can afford it. Many people are interested though, The whole world loves Haute Couture and want to see the new designs and latest trends. I think many fashion designers now don't do haute couture because it's expensive and not a lot of designers have the money to make haute couture. Also, not having high quality clothes is in, My generation loves the fashion on past ones and my generation doesn't really have a particular style.

Which couturier are you going to feature in your paper? Why did you choose this person to learn more about?
I am choosing Stéphane Rolland as a couturier that I am going to feature in my paper because I don't know a lot about him. I think it would be interesting to get to know another fashion designer whose style is something I haven't come across.
This is a very structured robe type gown featured in Rolland's 2011 Fall Couture Show. His style is clean but edgy unlike other designers who have also have a clean but glamorous look. I chose to learn more about him because his clothes stuck out to me and most of his past is unknown. The important details of how his career became are known but I want to know why fashion inspired him and other values. There are not a lot of resources that have information on this so that's why I want to somewhat make more work for myself to find out more about Stéphane Rolland.

Who is more sexist? Society or Fashion?
I believe society is more sexist because in my American society a man can still be seen the same if he changes his style, a woman can be seen as: "asking for it",slut, tramp, pure, prude, etc. Society also creates a value in fashion. There is a controversy to this though, society and fashion can both make women feel insecure about themselves. "Only fashion models can pull this look off" is what is often heard and this results into women becoming insecure with their bodies. I have yet to see a high fashion plus-size show. Fashion usually promotes though like in Marc Jacobs Fall 2014 Show.

Haute Couture
The true definition of haute couture is "fashion that is constructed by hand from start to finish, made from high quality, expensive, often unusual fabric and sewn with extreme attention to detail and finished by the most experienced and capable sewers, often using time-consuming, hand-executed techniques." An example would be Chritian Dior's 2007 Fall/Winter collection:
Haute Couture actually refers to fashion designers and fashion houses that create the looks. Two of the criteria fashion houses have to meet in order to qualify as "haute couture" is have 20 full-time technical people in one workshop and every season there must be a collection of 50 original pieces (day and evening) presented to the public. This collection should be presented in January and July each year. Now a question that might occur is : "How long does it take to make a "Haute Couture" piece?". Well, it can take from 100-700 hours to create one couture dress so you can imagine how long a whole 50 piece collection could take! Price also occurs very expensively ( around 10,000 to 100,000) but it is understandable because a handmade, high quality piece of clothing should be. The market is expensive but also extremely rare because even though 2,000 women purchase haute couture, only 200 are regular buyers.

What 'needs' do you think clothing satisfies? Physical Needs?Emotional Needs? Other Needs? Provide specific examples to illustrate your answer.
Needs that clothing satisfies is definitely physical and emotional because it can brighten your mood or darken it. For example, if I wore something I am not confident in ( like dresses ) I would feel very uncomfortable and have my fashion choice in the back of my head. When I wear something I am confident in, I feel so much better and can interact knowing that my fashion choice doesn't really matter. I feel that physically, it is harder to satisfy needs because your body is somewhat permanent but moods are not. If clothes do not fit your body type, that's a need not met because you hoped and wanted the piece of clothing to fit. If the clothing enhances a problematic feature ( like stretch marks) that is also a need not met. If clothing is flattering, You will feel confident and want to show it off, a physical and emotional need met. I think physical and emtional go hand in hand so one cannot be met without the other .

In your opinion, does wearing school uniforms increase learning? reduce violence? reduce stereotyping and prejudice? Support your answer with specific examples
I don't think wearing uniform increases or decreases learning and reduces violence. I think the only factor that comes into learning and violence is gangs when it comes to no uniforms. I do think uniforms reduce stereotyping and prejudice though. When students wear uniforms, they are known as the school's students as a group. You also don't know the style of the students who don't wear uniform. Uniforms also allow students to not be judged for personal clothes. I think it makes a school look professional when they have the students wear uniforms. Students usually try to come to school very comfy or cozy in pajamas but having uniforms shows how polished a student can be. Personally, I love wearing uniforms now because I immediately know what to wear, they are black and white, and won't have to ruin my personal clothes. I used to hate my middle school uniforms because they made students wear very unflattering colors like green and khaki.

What messages do you think you send through your clothing? What about other people? What messages do you think they send through the clothes they wear?
I want think the messages I send through my clothing is mostly what music I listen to and how it influences my style. I love the 80's glam rock and am extremely inspired by it. The music and fashion is what stuck out. I love Billy Idol so much and loved how he dressed ( punk).
I am very inspired by this style; leather jacket, tight pants, combat boots, and STUDS! I think other people have influences in the clothes they wear but not as often or dramatic as mine. For example, they could be dressing for the weather, for the trends, social media etc. I think the messages they send are different like " I want to be cozy and warm" or " I really liked how this looked on someone else and I want to try it".
Why did you choose to study fashion? What do you hope to learn by taking a fashion class?
Well, I chose to study fashion because I like the idea of getting ready and people noticing what you put on from getting ready. I love the different styles that comes with fashion like punk, simple, girly, goth, etc.
Learning more about fashion might get me to switch up my style and try something different in the future. I also want to be able to learn how to make my own clothes. I hope I can learn more about different styles other than the ones I am familiar with. I am really excited for whats going to be taught in the class because we have got the chance to do activities early on. I honestly thought we were going to sit and read sewing machine instructions but we didn't. We got to make dresses, cut fabric, and have sewing machine practice! I have high hopes for this class....
