2017 Oscars fashion

My favorite dress at the Oscars was the vintage Armani Prive worn by Emma Roberts.

It looks very classy and elegant which is perfect for the Oscars. I like it a lot because I think Emma Roberts has a slim body which makes the dress look elegant and not too sexy. Some of the trends I did notice was the open chest for the dresses. Lots of other celebs has open chest dresses. I think for men it will always be a classic black and white tuxedo but Riz Almed came in a royal blue tuxedo which made him look very sharp and young.

Raf Simons

 The head designer of Calvin Klein decided that he should go for a punk vibe for the new collection.

I learned that Raf is trying to follow the trends because I am seeing a lot of ill fitting clothing and someone commented on this and said " This is nothing but bunch of ill fitting clothes just wrapped in some unfortunate styling ...You want to be punk and break the system then call a spade a spade and call out "designers" like this guy and Hedi Slimane who they really are bunch of way overpraised, cliche, tired stylists with big PR offices and mediocre talent."  

McCalls Pattern company

I think that Priyanka Chopra was the best dressed for the Sag awards. The fashion was elegant but modern with sparkle and color. I noticed there were a lot of striped dresses and sparkle dresses with glitter on them. Other than Priyanka, I loved Nicole Kidman's dress too.

Gucci designed this tropical looking dress with beautiful sequence and I love it!!

Toilet Paper Dresses

As my team and I were designing our dress, We decided that we should just combine all our ideas and see what we came up with. At first, We went with Ashlyn's circle framing the chest area. The ideas of modern,unique and classic were all something we wanted to do. We ended up making what Ashlyn had in mind and became more comfortable to say what we think should happen to the dress. Personally, I didn't think the circle framed the dress how we envisioned though.

As a team, we thought it would be to plain to just throw the toilet paper so Aurelia and Ashlyn made pleats that would hug the bodice very nicely. I think it was an extremely unique touch because I usually don't see any dresses that look like this. We originally planned to have a simple train skirt also but the idea of a tea length was popping up. 

As I mentioned, I wasn't fond of the circle framing the chest so I suggested that we should have the flowers bordering the dress which connects to a key hole back. Ashlyn also wanted a tea length dress so she made that happen. I think the result is astonishing and If I could I would wear this all the time.

Why do you think color is so important in fashion?

I believe color is important in fashion because it compliments skin tones ,body shapes, mood etc. Color is the first thing other people notice about us, and its impact is immediate and long-lasting. Our fashion color choices say a lot about the image we are trying to portray and how we feel about ourselves. Color gives meaning to designs. They become memorable and give emotions when presented. 

Here is a list of colors for woman that are ideal for a whole range of occasions:

• Blue-based reds: Suggests intelligence and femininity.
• Yellow-based reds: Energetic colour that keeps conversations going (Men are inherently attracted to yellow-based reds - a great colour for a first date)
• Purple: Stirs the senses and generates passion - great for creative endeavours
• Turquoise: puts other women at ease, encourages them to open up
• Lipstick red: implies strength and authority
• Medium blues: a calming colour that allows interactions to go smoothly
• Browns: non-threatening, stable, supportive and reliable (great for meetings with colleagues or clients)

What are "norms?" Why is it important for and organization or group to have a set of "norms" by which they function?

Something that is usual, typical, or standard is a norm.Norms are important to society because they provide guidelines on how to act in different situations. Social norms help to create order in society by allowing humans to understand typical behaviors in their culture.
Every group develops its own customs, habits and expectations for how things will be done. These patterns and expectations, or group norms as they’re sometimes called, influence the ways team members communicate with each other. Norms can help or hinder a group in achieving its goals. This also works for organizations too! Norm setting can only work if the team is truly able to agree. Norms won’t stick if members have reservations about them.
