Natural fibers and Wool Spinning
Yesterday we had a review on fibers and got to do a demo with wool spinning. Fibers are the building block of fabric and are very important. Most fibers are natural and come from nature, others are manufactured. The fiber we got to work with was wool and eventually we got to spin it into yarn which could be later used for fabric. Wool is one of the warmest fibers because it is very thick which would be great for the colder seasons. The coolest fabric would be cotton because it is an absorbent meaning that it absorbs moisture which is great for the summer when you sweat. Cotton also is great because it isn't irritating on the skin. The picture on the side is what we did. We did it by hand only with no machine. Since the wool is so fine you have to twist it until it slowly twists by itself.
