What are "norms?" Why is it important for and organization or group to have a set of "norms" by which they function?

Something that is usual, typical, or standard is a norm.Norms are important to society because they provide guidelines on how to act in different situations. Social norms help to create order in society by allowing humans to understand typical behaviors in their culture.
Every group develops its own customs, habits and expectations for how things will be done. These patterns and expectations, or group norms as they’re sometimes called, influence the ways team members communicate with each other. Norms can help or hinder a group in achieving its goals. This also works for organizations too! Norm setting can only work if the team is truly able to agree. Norms won’t stick if members have reservations about them.

The stylish, eco-friendly brands that you need to know about

I think H&M is the most ethical brand just because it is the easiest to get to. It is at every mall and it very affordable and has great fashion. H&M’s newest collection is a lesson in high street sustainable fashion. With Olivia Wilde fronting the latest collection which features garments made out of hemp, organic linen and organic leather, this is a great way to look fashionable and support sustainability. H&M shares a list of 98.5% of its supplier names and addresses of its first tier suppliers. The brand also shares the names and addresses of suppliers of fabric and yarn making about 50% of the pieces produced by the brand. Visitors to the brand’s website can access this information through an interactive map. H&M aims to update this list every 3 months.

Genderless Style

Japan is stepping into the modern world and opening up to a genderless style. Usually this style applies for girls and guys but mainly men have been grabbing the attention. Even from me, I follow these men on my social media accounts and they show that they are extremely confident in wearing what they would like. This genderless man wears heels and makeup, He goes by Daicham and has a very sleek and dark taste in fashion which I enjoy.

Golden Globe fashion

My favorite look in the Golden Globes was Olivia Culpo's.
She looks very classy but ethnic. I really like everything about this look because the colors of the makeup and dress go well with each other.
I think this dress flatters her well. and I LOVE the shape of it. I like her braided hair bun. I love all the colors of this dress with a navy base. I think the colors of the dress compliment her skin color too and that's why it looks so good.

Topman Fall 2017 Men's Collection

I think this collection is a joke. This collection is very unflattering "hipster" fashion and I don't think anyone would look good in it. I picture men who don't care about their appearance at all wearing this.

I think this collection is very bad and styled bad too.
When I read an article about this being a George Michaels homage, I grown to dislike it more just because it looks very lazy and thrown together.

Have you made any New Year's Resolutions? What are they? Please make at least two 'Resolutions' for yourself for this new semester in this class. What would you like to challenge yourself to do? How will you accomplish these things?

This year I chose not to make any resolutions because I tend not to stick to them. For the class, I can make two resolutions right now. I will become more aware of how seriously this class needs to be taken and be focused on what kind of garments I want to make. I would like to challenge myself to stick with this class and not quit it because things at my home school aren't going great. To accomplish this isn't very hard. I enjoy this class already and the people in it

Where do you think designers find their inspiration? What inspires you?

I think designers get their inspiration from what they surround themselves with or already have surrounded by them. Family, friends, cultures etc. could be inspiring artists. What inspires me is Japanese culture. I have grown so much to learn and appreciate the culture and it inspires me to make clothes just like in the traditional clothing to the sub-culture clothing. I really enjoy any kind of Japanese fashion. This picture is from Liz Lisa which is a cute Lolita type of store but they have combined cute with traditional.
I do like the outrageous styles Japan has created but I tend to go for more toned down looks like this one from the Tokyo Fashion blog.
