How is your group's collection like a story? How do the pieces complement each other? Why would your customer's want to put themselves in the middle of your story?

*What is your favorite era for clothing and why?
My favorite era for clothing is the 80s. I love all the fashion that came with it. I know most people think of neon colors but I think that was misunderstood because fashion was about pastel and kind of muted colors. For an example, I chose the Pretty In Pink fashion as an example.
There was structure in mainly the suits which I liked also. I really like the 80's for more of the "everyday " fashion like the pastels and how unique the style was. What I really love is the very bold shoulder suits that some women would wear.
This photo was found in an article wrote as "20 Style Mistakes We All Made in the '80s" which made me think the person who wrote this has no sense of style. "Women expressed an image of wealth and success through shiny costume jewelry, such as large faux-gold earrings, pearl necklaces, and clothing covered with sequins and diamonds." says Wikipedia. I really love the idea of this because I love glamorous things and women being the center of it.

Mood Board
A mood board is something you get inspiration from. The direct definition though is an arrangement of images, materials, pieces of text, etc., intended to evoke or project a particular style or concept. A mood board also gives a overall mood and feel. Graphic designers, interior designers, industrial designers, photographers and other creative artists use mood boards to visually illustrate the style they wish to pursue. However, they can also be used by design professionals to visually explain a certain style of writing, or an imaginary setting for a storyline. In short, mood boards are not limited to visual subjects, but serve as a visual tool to quickly inform others of the overall "feel" (or "flow") of an idea. In creative processes, mood boards can balance coordination and creative freedom. This mood board helped my group pull everything together because we all had similar ideas. It gave us the idea on how we are going to pull our pieces together.

Savers
Yesterday there was a field trip at Savers with plenty of information of what actually goes down for the products to be out for sale. Before I thought that whatever you donate goes straight into the store for sale. You would donate your clothes and then they would have to be met to a certain criteria that includes cleanliness and such. Then it it gets a pass it will be priced and such. If it does not pass the criteria then it gets shipped to the bigger Savers Factory and it it doesn't pass there, the clothes go where they are needed(Specifically developing countries). A frequent question these thrift stores get is " do you wash the clothes" and that's a no. These thrift stores think that if the clothes meet a good criteria then nothing should be done to them. Like no mending or washing.

Russia’s Very Own Christian Dior, Legendary Designer Slava Zaitsev
At 79 years of age, Russian designer Vyacheslav “Slava” Zaitsev can still seduce a runway audience as easily as he did when he first launched his career during the Soviet Union in the early 1960s. His signature gowns and coats, often made with the rich, traditional floral prints of pavlovo posad scarves, are finished with a couture-like hand. At Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia, attendees erupted in applause after seeing one of Zaitsev’s wildly ornate creations, a look that could have been plucked out of a Russian folktale. Though Zaitsev’s traditional style may seem out of place at a Fashion Week focused on emerging technology and talent, the event’s organizers consider it important for the designer to present. “This is the first [designer] that young people should learn from, the roots, the cultural background, the craftsmanship,” says Alexander Shumsky, executive president of the Russian Fashion Council and founder of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia. “[These are] all the Russian essentials that Slava Zaitsev has been expressing since his first collection was revealed.”

Anniesa Hasibuan
The designer Anniesa Hasibusan made an impression in the fashion work recently by only having immigrant models. But designer Anniesa Hasibuan, an Indonesian Muslim, made her own statement last year also at her New York Fashion Week debut by sending all her models down the runway wearing hijabs. She is trying to fight Islamophobic and xenophobic views that exist in America. Westerners can also wear this type of clothing. the fashion industry has been using the fall 2017 collections as a platform to make political statements and take a stand for rights and values threatened by the Trump administration.

Christian Lacroix
I chose Christian Locroix because I really enjoy his idea of the "pouf" skirt. Lacroix was born in Arles, Bouches-du-Rhône in southern France. At a young age he began sketching historical costumes and fashions. Lacroix graduated from high school in 1969 and moved to Montpellier, to study Art History at the University of Montpellier. In 1971, he enrolled at the Sorbonne in Paris. While working on a dissertation on dress in French 18th-century painting, Lacroix also pursued a program in museum studies at the École du Louvre. His aspiration during this time was to become a museum curator. It was during this time he met his future wife Françoise Rosenthiel, whom he married in 1974. In 1987, he opened his own haute couture house. He began putting out ready-to-wear in 1988 drawing inspiration from diverse cultures. Critics commented that he did not seem to understand the type of clothing the working woman needed. In 1989, Lacroix launched jewelry, handbags, shoes, glasses, scarves, and ties (along with ready-to-wear). In this same year, he opened boutiques within Paris, Arles, Aix-en-Provence, Toulouse, London, Geneva, and Japan.
With his background in historical costume and clothing, Lacroix soon made headlines with his opulent, fantasy creations, including the short puffball skirt ("le pouf"), rose prints, and low décolleté necklines. He referenced widely from other styles—from fashion history (the corset and the crinoline), from folklore, and from many parts of the world—and he mixed his references in a topsy-turvy manner. He favored the hot colors of the Mediterranean region, a hodgepodge of patterns, and experimental fabrics, sometimes handwoven in local workshops.

Do You Worry Colleges or Employers Might Read Your Social Media Posts Someday?
I don't worry if employers or colleges read my social media because I am showing what I am interested in on my social media. I don't do anything inappropriate so I know I am fine. My social media is just everything I find amusing and enjoy. I want Employers and Colleges to know what kind of person I am through my social media even though it shows a unique side of people. If people notice my social media, I could get benefits and offers to do a lot of great things. I could get job offers or assistance on how to make myself better and what not. I want to show others that social media represents me because I choose what I should be putting out in the public.

Annakiki FW 2017
Milan Fashion Week had one guest who showed looks that I really enjoyed. Annakiki's Fall Winter 2017 Collection had me head over heals.
I loved the whole collection so much but these two outfits stuck out to me. I really love glossy latex looking garments just because they make everything look very cool. The pink fur outfits are also very beautiful too.
I really like how this is very "in". I see a lot of people with this kind of style and I love it! These looks are my favorites out of that great collection and I would like to see more collections like this and more brands with this same kind of style.
